Three Israeli men have been taken shots dead at a boundary point among Jordan and the involved West Bank, Israeli authorities say.
The shooter - distinguished by the Israeli military as Maher Jazi - moved toward the Allenby Extension crossing from the Jordanian side in a truck then got out and started shooting, the Israel Guard Powers (IDF) said.
Security staff "wiped out" the shooter and the IDF looked at the truck for indications of explosives, an assertion said.
Jordan says it is examining the episode, which occurred in an Israeli-controlled region where Jordanian vehicles offload merchandise entering the West Bank. The line point has now been shut from the two sides.
Israeli media detailed the casualties were named Yohanan Shchori, 61, Yuri Birnbaum, 65, and Adrian Marcelo Podzamczer, whose age was not given.
The three men were supposed to be watches working at the boundary crossing, yet were not military or police.
Kan News, Israel's state telecaster, detailed that Jazi was a 39-year-old Jordanian who had filled in as a transporter.
Video film showed the aggressor strolling to the terminal and shooting his weapon multiple times before he was shot dead.
A Jordanian line official let Reuters know that something like two dozen Jordanian transporters in the offloading region had been confined by Israel's military for cross examination.
